    Description

THE HOURS - FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION AS BEST ADAPTED SCREENPLAY BY DAVID HARE BASED ON THE NOVEL BY MICHAEL CUNNINGHAM - 2002, Paramount / Miramax, 11 x 8.5-inch PB scrip[t bound securely by by hard plastic at spine; 97 one-sided pp., very good overall condition (the front cover is bright and clean with straight corners, the pages are bright and clean; the back cover has several small tan stains from what looks to have been contact with some spilled tea; the main flaw is rippling and soft discoloration at vertical edge, which has caused softer rippling but no surface staining at the vertical edges of the script's final 3 pages; there is a faint tan stain at the center of the closed vertical pages).
Michael Cunningham won the Pulitzer Prize for his novel THE HOURS, The prestige film was directed by Englishman Stephen Daldry for Paramount and Miramax. It starred Nicole Kidman as Virginia Woolf, and Meryl Streep and Julianne Moore as American women, the first seen post-WWII, the second contemporary. Their lives are intercut and we see how each is enormously impacted by suicide. It was nominated for 9 Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Director, Supporting Actor (Ed Harris), Supporting Actress (Julianne Moore), Adapted Screenplay, Costume Design and Editing. Kidman won for Best Actress.
There are no exact match on eBay, which has another full-size script described as an Awards copy but with a regular white studio cover (the title page) and bound by 2 brass brads. In very good condition with some crinkling on the cover page, it's .00 + .00 shipping. Mine's an actual Awards Copy with the distinctive cover. It has the distressed back cover but is otherwise a nice copy, and it's priced much lower.
The Buy-It-Now price of .00 includes shipping bubble-wrapped in a cardboard box via media mail insured, which takes around 7 days with tracking.
